It’s completely normal to feel a little apprehensive before your first session with us, wondering how the session will run, how your little one will settle, and how you will feel being away from them. Please know there’s no right or wrong way to start.
If you’d prefer to have your baby right beside you to begin with, that is absolutely fine. We encourage you to do whatever feels most comfortable for you and your little one.
Our highly experienced nanny, Ruth, has put together her top tips to help you feel more at ease and to ensure both you and your baby have the best possible experience with us.

Safety First
Safety for both you and your baby is our top priority. All little ones should be dropped off to our nannies safely strapped in their pram. This helps our nannies ensure safety during drop off times and best attend to their needs.
2. Toys Toys Toys
Having some fun toys or comfort items from home really help little ones feel relaxed while away from mum. The more the merrier!
3. Come Prepared
A fresh nappy and a full belly is our most successful tool for keeping little ones happy while at Mums & Bubs. If your little one eats solids, bring a packed lunch box or lots of snacks (please no nuts). Prepare a bottle ahead of time so our nannies can quickly feed your baby if they need it.
4. Get to know your Nanny
Take some time on your first session having a chat with your nanny. Let us know immediately about any allergies or additional needs. Our nannies are experts at caring for babies and toddlers, but they also know each individual little one is unique. Do they love listening to the Happy Song? Do they prefer to be held a specific way? We love knowing these tips so we can help your baby have a great time while under our nannies care.
5. Don’t stress!
Your first session will be a new experience for both you and your baby. While our expert trainers are helping you ease back into feeling fitter and stronger, our experienced nannies will take a similar approach with your baby. Our nannies will let you know if your baby is upset or not settling well and work with you to get them used to coming to (and enjoying!) Mums & Bubs.
